I worked with TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s regional transit authority, on their regional fare review for Phases 1 and 2, developing engagement processes, facilitating discussion, conducting data analysis and writing reports. During Phase 1, I led the quantitative data analysis for the public questionnaire which garnered over 28,000 responses to find relationships between data and demographics such as region, age and main mode of transit. I ensured appropriate methodology was used, provided clear graphics and relevant data interpretation. A challenge faced during this project was ensuring data of interest and appropriate methodology was used due to public pressures and scrutiny given the importance of the project. We tackled this by closing the loop, and communicating what we heard, how we are addressing concerns, and how community input would be carried forward into action. During Phase 2, I assisted in the development of workshop design, facilitated small group conversation and completed qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
